A Nation Of Kings And Priests

“And have made us kings and priests to our God, and we shall reign on the earth.” Revelation. 5:10

The world is darker now morally, ethically, physically, and spiritually, in many ways, than at any other time in its history. Since the great flood in judgement that God sent because of sin, that had so completely encompassed it, the world has been in ever-increasing darkness.

But the good news is the Church is waking up to the reality of what is going on in every sector of our country and in the world at large. We are beginning to push back against it and in no small way. We are standing with the hosts of Heaven at our side, before us, and behind us. We are encompassed about with a great cloud of witnesses and God’s ministering angels are warring with us in the heavenly places.

Our weapons of warfare are made alive in worship! We overcome by the blood of The Lamb and the word of our testimony!! We have the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven and as kings and priests unto God we reign!!! We REIGN NOW!!!

We have been given the dominion over all the earth.

“And they sang a new song, saying: ‘You are worthy to take the scroll, and to open its seals; For You were slain, and have redeemed us to God by Your blood out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation, and have made us kings and priests to our God; and we shall reign on the earth.’ Then I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne, the living creatures, and the elders; and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands, saying with a loud voice: ‘Worthy is the Lamb who was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom, and strength and honor and glory and blessing!’ ” Revelation 5:10 -12 KJV

Though not all those who believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior have come to the realization of this fact. Nevertheless, this is who we are now, and who we shall be when Jesus returns. Our role is to be priestly intercessors for the world, not to sit back ringing our hands in helpless, hopelessness and despair, but to exercise our God-ordained authority to tread on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy.

“Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” Luke 10:19 KJV

We do this first and fundamentally by our worship of God, and God alone, by acknowledgment of the sovereignty of His power over sin and evil and by living as His righteous ambassadors, sent out to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the nations, even to one individual at a time if necessary.

We are called to rule and reign as God’s anointed people, set apart for His Kingdom’s purpose to be realized now in our time. We are not called to rule over people or dominate anyone to bend them to our will, but as priests, we are called to pray, to intercede, and to do battle for the souls of men, women, and children throughout the world that God so loved that He gave His only begotten Son to redeem back to Himself, and to give them eternal life.

The enemy of God has arrayed his legions against the Church, but they will not prevail against us! Greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world. The devil is not all-powerful, nor is he capable of being everywhere at all times. Only God is Omnipotent, (All powerful) Omniscient (All wise, all knowing) Omnipresent (All-present, everywhere at all times). God is ruler over all that He has created. In Him alone we have the victory over sin, over hell, over death and over the grave. NO WEAPON THAT IS FORMED AGAINST US WILL PROSPER!

Therefore, we must take a stand! We must take our place and speak, pray, intercede, and stand in the gap for those who oppose themselves.

“And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, in meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; and that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.” 2 Timothy 2:24-26

Rise Up O Men of God! Rise Up O Church of God!! Rise up and take the rulership you have been given.

Rise up, O Church of God!

Have done with lesser things.

Give heart and mind and soul and strength

To serve the King of kings.

Rise up, O Church of God!

His kingdom tarries long.

Bring in the day of brotherhood

And end the night of wrong.

Rise up, O sons of God!

The Church for you doth wait,

Her strength unequal to her task,

Rise up and make her great!

Lift high the cross of Christ!

Tread where His feet have trod.

As foll'wers of the Son of Man,

Rise up, O Church of God!

Tune: St. Thomas. Author: William P. Merrill
